Mother’s Day. The occasion to honour our mothers, to shower her with all our love, care and warmth. What makes good mothers? It’s not a question whose answer can be contained within a few words. Mothers comprise of a bundle of emotions that sometimes defy reason. This is dedicated to all the mothers, who: have kept awake all night holding us in their arms, constantly uttering with an assuring tone, these words, “It’s OK honey, Mummy’s here”. cannot restrain their tears from rolling down their cheeks when they hold us for the very first time in their arms; and for mothers who give birth to babies they will never see. skip work to watch us perform and repeat to themselves “That’s my child!!”. taught us to tie our shoelaces even before we started going to school. silently shed tears when we scream and yell at them. Let us celebrate Mother’s Day a little differently and give our mothers a health check. After all, “The Greatest Gift is Life”.
