As many of you would know by now, Kate Reyes died of breast cancer earlier this month. She was only 41 years old. I may not have known her personally, but the news still came as a huge shock for me. All the memories of listening to her voice on radio over the years came rushing back in floods. But the fact is, this isn’t a rare scenario. More than a quarter of cancers diagnosed in women are breast cancers. Every loss in life is a huge tragedy, and breast cancer has claimed many of our women’s lives (and some men’s) even though there has been tons of medical advancements over the years. So please allow me to urge you: if you are a woman above 40, do make an appointment for a breast screening today.
