In 2030, there could be 103,000 people in Singapore living with dementia. That’s more than double the number today. Plenty of plans are in motion to cope with this increase, and one of them is a four-storey home specifically designed to help elderly who have been diagnosed with dementia. The S$15-million project, an extension of Salvation Army’s Peacehaven Nursing Home, is slated to open in 2016. The home features the use of smart technology such as wearable tracking devices. It’s aim? To allow its residents to wander about freely, to experience some autonomy, so that they feel happier and more fulfilled. For those who are caring for elderly with dementia, this is yet another option to help ease the heavy load.
At The Medical Concierge Group, we aim to do the same, but in a different way. We provide help in the comfort of your own home. If you need a helping hand to provide care for your loved ones, we are here. Whether it is just to accompany them to the doctor’s for one afternoon, or to do so every single week, we are here for you and your loved ones.
