Vesak Day was recently celebrated on 1 June 2015. It is a day observed by Buddhists to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha. Buddhists believe that performing good deeds on Vesak Day will multiply merits for the rest of the year. As such, they sometimes organise mass blood donations, and perform various acts of generosity, including the release of caged birds and animals, having vegetarian meals, and engaging in charitable works on this special day. These acts of generosity are also known as Dana.
While Vesak Day has passed, the spirit of generosity expressed during this event can carry on. Many times, we forget to give back to those who have helped us along our life journey. Let us take some time to take care of our families, loved ones and friends.
If you would like to give back to your loved ones by taking care of their health, you can start by arranging a health screening for them. To find out how, call our friendly medical concierge at +65 6679 7867 or email us at customercare@tmcg.com.sg.
Wishing you the best of health, Daniel Choo CEO, The Medical Concierge Group
